What are Yours Idols

It has always been a hard thing to know what an idol is. I don't mean being able to point out idols in other peoples lives or some things in our own life that have been pointed out to us. But I what mean is the idols that we don't recognize. Every day, we "worship" our idols. Without even thinking about doing it we do it.  We can't help it; it just happens. . We wake up and go through our normal routines: Shower, brush our teeth, shave (for the men), eat breakfast, drink a cup of coffee, read the paper, then go to school/work, come home, change out of school/work clothes, turn on the tv, check emails/facebook, make dinner, watch more tv, brush teeth, and finally go to bed. It's so simple, to get caught up with it. I recently watched this video by The Skit Guys. It was all about idols and goes on to compare tribal religions and how they worship idols and false gods. How they dress up in crazy outfits, put on makeup, sing and shout crazy and ridiculous chants. As the video goes on, it slowly shows more and more, of people at football games. People wearing, ridiculous outfits, wearing makeup, singing and shouting crazy chants....It really tugged at my heart. It got me angry because I see this all too often. Not just with my friends or people I look up  to but even in myself. I don't go all out and dress up in all that stuff or put on make up, but I still do the chants, I've bought Blackhawks shirts and a hat. I even downloaded Chealsea Dagger onto my phone as a ringtone.  The more I think about all the idols in the world and how easy it is to get caught up in them and not even notice. The more I realize how much I still need God and how much I need to trust him and give him the worship that he RIGHTFULLY deserves!
